Description

Pithoragarh has a lot of historical importance. It was one of the main centers of power during the rule of Chand Rajas of Kumaon. From this region, pilgrims begin their journey to the holiest shrines of Mansarovar and Kailash. You can get an excellent view of the snow capped mountains of Nanda Devi, Panchachuli and Appi of Nepal from Chandak hill located a height of 2000 mts. Pithoragarh has quite a number of important places of interest to attract tourists. A magnificent fort, the Pithoragarh Fort stands tall in Pithoragarh constructed by the Gurkhas in the 18th century.

Overall Rating

The city shares international boundaries with China and Nepal. It is the largest district in the hills of Uttarakhand. It comes under Kumaon division, the people are called as Kumaonis and the local language is Kumaoni Language. The summers are very pleasant with moderate climate and the winters are chilly days accompanied with heavy snowfalls. Known as Mini Kashmir of India, is one of the most beautify place not just the because of it’s scenic beauty but also because of the culture, the simplicity that the place has. It is one of the fastest growing city in Uttrakhand in terms of technology, education, culture.

Pithoragarh is called mini kashmir of Uttarakhand, its a beautiful hill station. You can fine all kind of weather in a same season. If we talk about the manth JUNE in city pithoragarh you will find a hot weather till 2 or 3 pm after that you can get a fine weather sometimes it rains heavily, in the same day a place of pithoragarh called Munshyari which is 120+ km from pithoragarh center there would be snowing…. Same day if you visit julaghat 35 km far from pithoragarh center you will find a hot weater.
