Gangotri is a place where the River Ganga begins its journey from the Gaumukh Glacier. The flow of the river over the rapids is a strong flow. The Gangotri Temple is situated on the banks of the Ganga River. The temple is not much architechturally. The diety in the temple is of Ma Ganga and Saraswati. The queue to enter the temple moves quickly and order is maintained. There is no pushing and shoving. A dip in the Ganges is possible at the steps of the Temple.
